How can I create an announcement for my listing?

In order to offer coupons or discounts to Little Wild Ones Explorers, you’ll need to have either a pro or advanced listing. If you’re listing is already on our directory, but you haven’t claimed your listing, you will need to do that first by following the instructions here.

Then you’ll need to access your dashboard. Make sure to login to first, then go to your dashboard here: https://thelittlewildonescollective.com/listing-author/

Adding Your Announcement

  1. Click on “Announcements” on the Menu bar on the left hand side of the screen.
  2. Click “add new announcement”
  3. Fill out the information in the form. You can see a preview of your announcement on the right hand side of the screen.
  4. When you’re finished, click the “save” button. All your coupons for your listings will show up here for you to modify as needed.

Once your announcement is saved, you’ll be able to see it on your listings public page directly under the listings name.

You can turn the announcement on and off by toggling the on/off switch next to the announcement.

My payment didn’t go through

Within a day of your trip, you’ll receive an email with the subject, “Get Paid for Scouting ___________.” Inside, you’ll find three steps towards getting paid:

  • Submit your written review for this property by responding to this email.
  • Answer the short questionnaire by clicking on the link and filling out the form.
  • Attach Your Photos to the email.

Please complete all steps in the same email. This makes it way easier for us to track your listing, and therefore makes it way easier for us to pay you. 🙂

Assuming you have completed these three tasks, payments go out on the first Friday of the month.

If this was your first scouting trip with the Little Wild Ones Collective, you’ll receive a contractor setup email from Zenefits a day or two before the first Friday of the month that you’ll need to fill out. You can learn more about payment here.

If you’ve completed the above steps and you didn’t get paid, or you have any questions about your payment please contact us at scout@littlewildonescollective.com so we can assist you as quickly as possible.

Do I get paid for writing Journal Entries?

The majority of The Little Wild Ones Collective Journal posts are community-generated and not compensated. Writing for the journal is a great way to gain exposure. Each article features an author biography & links to your personal social profiles and/or website.

Have an idea for a post you think would be a great fit for the Journal? We’d love to hear it! You can pitch your ideas here.

How do I get paid?

How much do I get paid per assignment?

$50-$100 per assignment. The price is dependent on the location and the experience of the Scout. Scouts that have worked with us previously without issues are given a higher price point per assignment. Locations that are larger and will require a longer stay like amusement parks will also get paid more.

Once you’re approved to be a field scout, you’ll start out at $50 per assignment ($75 for amusement/theme parks). After you’ve submitted 10 assignments without issue (meaning we don’t have to contact you for corrections, additional information or to address problems) you’ll be upgraded to Pro Scout status and receive an additional $25 per assignment.

You’ll receive an email after you’ve claimed an assignment with the payment amount and details specific to that assignment.

When do payments go out?

Payments go out on the first Friday of the month. You will only get paid if you have completed all of the above steps and you’ve received a confirmation email from our Scout team approving your assignment.

What if I’ve completed everything but I didn’t receive a confirmation email?

If you’ve completed everything and you haven’t received a confirmation email yet it typically means our Scout team

  • Didn’t receive your submission
  • May want additional photos or information about the location
  • May have questions about the photos or review you uploaded

We try to approve trips as quickly as possible, but it could take up to 2 days for our Scout Team to approve your trip or reach out to you with questions. Please make sure to check your email for anything from our team in regards to your assignment. If it’s been 2 business days and you still haven’t heard anything, please reach out to us at scout@littlewildonescollective.com

What information do I need to include in my review?

Your review of each Scout Assignment should be broken up into three parts:

Written Review:

Your stories and photos will shape how someone views a Little Wild Ones Collective listing, so tell an engaging one. Tell us about your trip and the activities that you did there. What were your favorite parts? This should be a story about your visit. Please refrain from including details about the location like directions and bathroom access – those will be included elsewhere.

This review will be published in the journal along with your bio.

Questionnaire:

The email you receive after claiming your assignment will include a link to where you can fill out a questionnaire for the property. You’ll need to know things like handicap accessibility, bathroom access, stroller access, amenities & the activities to do at the location so keep notes when you visit to refer to when you return.

It’s always a good idea to look over the list of questions prior to scouting your location to make sure you don’t miss anything.

This questionnaire is what we use to create the listing in our directory.

Photos:

You’ll need to include a minimum of 10 photos for each location, but more is always better! (We prefer to see between 15-20 photos per assignment).

Your photos will shape how someone views a Little Wild Ones Collective listing, so tell an engaging story with them. This could include photos of your family playing on the beach, exploring a nearby hiking trail or relaxing in the hot pots while watching the sun set.

We ask that you always include these 3 types of shots:

Zoomed Out Shot of Location: A museum, a resort, a water park, etc. If possible, we would prefer as little people in the frame as possible. Please take this photo horizontally.

Surrounding Landscape or Amenities: What you take photos of will vary by location, but try to answer questions that others would want to know about the location when deciding where to go. At a zip line in the forrest? Take a photo of the views and the surrounding forrest! At a local pool? Take photos of the high dives, splash pads or waterslides!

People & Activities: We want your photos to tell a story. Maybe that story is kids playing in the pool while mom & dad relax in the pool chairs. Or maybe it’s a family exploring nature on a hike. No story is too small, but we ask that you highlight the location at the same time. For instance, we aren’t looking for a close up of a pinecone your daughter found on the hike, we want a photo of your family searching for pinecones in a forrest full of trees.
